From the Womb to the Page

In this newsletter, I will try to keep you updated on events (especially related to reading and writing) in my own life and to let you know some interesting things I encounter (especially in the arts). We spent part of the holidays in NYC with our son Kamal and some of the Turkish family visiting from overseas. It was a special delight to see the new photography project Kamal is completing. It's another East-West focus sure to draw attention. Photos printed out on huge sheets of aluminum and then worked on for thought-provoking results. We also spent time with Kent, his wife Bets and the two grandchildren, Grace and Quinn. Grace has already published her first adventure story, which can be purchased for .25 through vayyildiz@aol.com. Quinn gave grandparents oil paintings on wood for Christmas. Kid has quite a hand! Bets is busy at Morin and Barkley where she is a law partner. Kent's film business-where he writes, edits, shoots and brings into perfection keeps his busier than he ever hoped to be. He is "following his bliss." Karen is now a writer. I seduced her in when she was the design and layout editor for my first children's book in which Vedii produced the beautiful watercolors. She and I are writing together a book for intermediate youth (grades 6-8) entitiled THE FAMILY PROJECT. She's very good and we work well together.
I'm adding links to other author's sites a bit at a time.
